Jazz piano fans are sure to enjoy Mark's new CD series "Jazz Thoughts for the Day" ...with a unique CD released for each month of the year. Each different monthly album features a solo piano piece for every day of that month. For a total of 366 instrumental tracks, in 12 albums! You'll love each and every month of this series, and want to give it to your favorite jazz piano fan.

Jazz fans (and classical, too) will appreciate that each piece is a veritable jazz impromptu: composed/improvised totally spontaneously, as did Bach and Mozart! Nothing planned, nothing rehearsed, nothing written down--every note generated from the heart. Simply put...each piece is from Mark Massey's unique stream of jazz consciousness!

The pieces have a wide range of jazz styles, from mainstream to contemporary, funky to folk-jazz, cool to bobop, gospel to ragtime and "trad"--with Latin, Spanish, Brazilian, Cajun, Native American, Asian, Indian, African, Celtic influences and more, reflecting Mark Massey's "Acoustic Piano International" spirit . Plus classical influences from Gregorian chants to baroque, romantic to impressionistic.

Mark's piano style influences are also very wide-ranging: Vince Guaraldi, Fats Waller, Keith Jarrett, Dave Grusin, Joe Sample, Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, George Winston, and more.

Jaap wrote to Mark:
Hi Mark, thanks for using my photo for your CD-cover. I made this one on a very beautiful winter morning several years ago. The exact location of this pic is the dyke near the very tiny not-even-a-village of Oudendijk, between Alkmaar (Cheese Market!) and Hoorn, in the NW part of the Netherlands. The trees on this dyke have been cut two years ago, so we'll have to wait 30 years to make a similar shot. All the best, Jaap Hart, Alkmaar, Netherlands
